My thanks to the publisher for my copy of this book
and to Random Things Tours for the opportunity to be a part of this blog tour

One magical winter's night in Venice, Didi fell in love. But it ended - and he left without even saying goodbye.

Now, thirteen years on, Shay Mason is back.

The old spark is still there, but Didi's determined to ignore it. As manager of a stunning Cotswolds hotel, she's happy at last, and soon to be married. Anyway, Shay isn't staying. He's made a promise to his father. He's going to keep it. And then he'll be gone.

But Shay's return stirs up long-forgotten emotions, and the scandal that led him to leave raises its head once again. It's time for buried secrets to come to light. And it seems that this was someone's intention all along.

📖 My Thoughts..

Didi and Shay meet on a trip to Venice when they were teenagers, but then life and circumstances got in the way and Didi and Shay went their separate ways. Now, thirteen years later, Didi is managing the family hotel in the Cotswolds, engaged to her lovely fiancé, content with her life, that is until Shay Mason comes back to Elliscombe and reawakens all those hidden feeling which Didi thought were gone forever.

I loved both Didi and Shay from the beginning, they are such wholesome characters and whilst they each have their own independent lives, memories of their shared past bonds them together. However, nothing ever runs smoothly and throughout the course of the story there are lessons to be learned, old wrongs to be righted and hidden secrets to be brought to the surface.

As with all Jill Mansell's stories there are a whole cast of supporting characters who each have their wonderful moment in the spotlight. I especially enjoyed Rosa and Benny's story, along with Layla, Harry and Will, and of course, not forgetting Shay's dad, Red, whose lively adventures, in the past, could fill a book all on their own.

Beautifully written and totally unputdownable as all this author's stories are, And Now You're Back is a lovely light, escapist read which is just perfect summer reading, and if you can't get away on holiday, simply chill in the garden, or in the local park, and let this lovely story take you right into the heart of  Elliscombe, and meet all the wonderful characters who this talented author so cleverly, and thoughtfully, brings to life.

My thanks tot he publishers and also to Anne at Random Things Tours for my copy of this book
and the invitation to be part of the blog tour

When Mimi first visits her dad's new home in the Cotswolds, she falls in love with Goosebrook and the people who live there. (Well, maybe not snooty Henrietta, who lets Mimi walk miles in the rain rather than give her a lift.)

There's Paddy, with his flashing eyes and seductive charm. Friendly and funny Lois makes Mimi laugh. And seriously gorgeous Cal is welcoming and charismatic. Though Mimi loves her city life and her career, she'd be very happy to return to Goosebrook if it means seeing more of him.

Life is about to take some unexpected and shocking twists and turns. And Mimi's path and Cal'sare set to cross again and again - but will it ever be the right time for both of them?

My thoughts about it..

Sitting down with a new Jill Mansell book is like the pleasure you feel when you kick off your shoes after a hard day at work, or taking that first sip of a restorative cup of tea after a busy day shopping, or even when sitting in the window seat of your favourite coffee shop to simply watch the world go by. Those first few words of the opening chapter, the delicious glimpse of a whole new set of characters, and the promise of the story to come, is one of the most comforting of reading sensations.

Maybe This Time moves along quickly and spans quite a few years during which time we get to see the central character Mimi develop and grow in personality, and we also meet up with the lovely characters, especially Cal, who both live and work in the idyllic Cotswold village of Goosebrook where Mimi spends time with her dad, and her dad’s partner Marcus.

It’s really difficult to reveal very much about Maybe This Time without giving the whole thing away and, as always, it’s best to read the book without any massive spoilers from me, so, all I will say is that the story has everything I have come to love about this author’s writing. There’s a whole bunch of quirky characters, some will tug away at your heartstrings, others will exasperate you and some you will actively fall in love with, but throughout the whole of the story, Mimi’s likeable personality keeps shining through.

Maybe This Time is a lovely light hearted story, beautifully written and with all the right ingredients for a deliciously good read, it has a likeable heroine, a dishy hero and whilst you sort of know where the story is heading there more than enough twists and turns before the ending to keep the whole story ticking along really nicely.

Having read all that this author has written over the last few years, I think that Maybe This Time stands up with some of the best of her writing.

Summer Read 2017...Meet me at Beachcomber Bay by Jill Mansell

What's it all about..

Love is in the air in St Carys, but you'd never know it - the people of this seaside town are very good at keeping secrets...

The man Clemency loves belongs to someone else. She has to hide her true feelings - but when she ropes in an unsuspecting friend to help, wires start to get crossed.

For the first time in Ronan's life his charm has failed him in winning over the woman he wants. Loving her from afar appears to be his only option.

Belle seems to have the perfect boyfriend, but something isn't quite right. And now a long-buried secret is slowly rising to the surface.

The truth has a funny way of revealing itself, and when it does St Carys will be a very different place indeed.

What did I think about it..

St. Carys is one of those quintessential Cornish seaside resorts which is brought to vibrant life in this modern story of love lost and of love regained.

Filled with an abundance of quirky characters who soon get right into your heart so that you can't help but make an emotional connection with them, and ultimately, want best possible outcome for all of them. Clemency is such a lovely protagonist, she made me smile especially in her relationship with Ronan, and also in the quirkiness of her volatile relationship with her stepsister, Belle.

Meet me at Beachcomber Bay is a hugely enjoyable modern day love story which covers interesting themes about families, and also of the effects of love and loss. The story grabs your attention from the opening page and doesn't let up until the story reaches its fitting conclusion.

Overall this is a perfect summer read with more than enough light and shade to make the story all the more memorable.

Review ~ Three Amazing Things About You by Jill Mansell

Headline Review
2015

There's always something comforting about picking up the latest Jill Mansell book. You just know that the story will flow beautifully, the characters will be infused with warmth and wit and that before too long at least one of them will be tugging away at your hearts strings. Three Amazing Things About You tackles the sensitive issue surrounding organ donation but does so in  away that will have most readers reaching for their organ donor card or logging onto the donor website.

As always the writing is good, the story draws you in from the beginning and the characters become as familiar as friends. The author makes you care about each and every one of them until you can't stop turning the pages until you find out how it all works out.

To say too much about the nitty gritty of the story would be to spoil the overall effect but what evolves is the story of ordinary people going about their daily lives until something happens which makes them all realise that the greatest gift anyone can give, is the gift of life.

A perfect summer read and easily one of those novels that slips easily into your travel bag for use pool side, preferably  with a tall glass of something ice cold and sweet nearby.
