Blog Tour ~ Trust in You by Julia Firlotte

Delighted to host a stop on this blog tour today

My thanks to the author for my copy of this book
and to Rachel's Random Resources for the invitation to be part of this blog tour

From the moment she met him, Ella Peterson had questions. As always, though, she’s too shy to ask. Older and sexy as hell, mysterious Adam Brook soon sweeps sheltered Ella off her feet; but is he as perfect as he appears to be, or is there more to him than he’s telling her? Ella’s world has already turned upside down after moving from England to rural Kansas. She and her sisters were hoping for a more secure future, but instead find that life can be tough when jobs are scarce and the stakes often higher than anticipated.

When events spiral out of Ella’s control, she learns the person she needs to rely on most is herself and her instincts on who to trust in the future. It’s just that her instincts are screaming at her to trust Adam; it’s what he tells her that makes that a problem.

What did I think about it...

Ella Petersen has moved to rural Kansas from her home in England. She and her sisters are finding it difficult to cope in this new environment and money is scarce. When Ella tries selling  their farm produce at her local market she comes into contact with the mysterious Adam Brook whose sheer attractiveness takes Ella's breath away.

What then follows is a coming of age story which has a dark and dangerous edge to it and as Ella gets drawn deeper and deeper into Adams's world so she starts to fall more in love with this older man, but at what cost?

This is an interesting story which is made all the more interesting by the dynamics of family feuds and of dangerous individuals who seem hellbent on making Ella's life as difficult as possible. Ella is a lovely sweet character but her naivety will prove to be more of  challenge as she becomes more in thrall to Adam. Sizzling with passion and an intense attraction between them both Ella and Adam have much to gain and even more to lose by their deepening relationship.

The author is obviously writing with a distinct passion for story telling and has given us some memorable characters in both Ella and Adam, although some of the peripheral figures were just as intriguing, particularly Adam's friends.

Trust in You is the first book in the Falling for You series and the author has made a good start with this first novel. It will be interesting to see where the series goes next and having read the tanalising trailer at the end of Trust in You, Believe in Me, promises to be every bit as exciting.
