Friday Recommended Read..

Friday again, and it's time for my choice of book for Friday recommends...

This is an exciting book blog hop that book bloggers can take part in once a week to share with their followers, the books that they most recommend reading!

The rules for Friday Recommends are:

Follow Pen to Paper as host of the meme.
Pick a book that you've read, and have enjoyed enough to recommend to other readers. It can be a book you've read recently, or a book you read years ago - it's up to you - but make sure you tell us why you love the book (like a mini review). You make the post as long or as short as you like.
Visit the other blogs and enjoy!

My Friday Recommended Read this week

The Good Father

Diane Chamberlain

The Good Father

My Review 5*****

My thanks to NetGalley, and St Martin’s Press / Minotaur Books for a pre publication galley.

The Good Father draws together the story of three people, who are all brought together by desperation and loss, and focuses on fractured lives and shattered souls.

Travis is a young father, desperately struggling to look after his four year old daughter, Bella; he knows he must provide for her, and yet, in doing so, he becomes involved in a dangerous situation.

Robin, although trying to focus on her new life, can’t forget the memory of the baby she once carried close to her heart.

Erin, grieving for the daughter she lost, and shattered by grief, finds a new way of coping with constant heartache.

As with all Diane Chamberlain's books, the narrative flows effortlessly, as each individual account compliments the story in a totally believable way. None of the characters try to outdo each other; and the fine attention to detail highlights the desperation, and overwhelming sadness, without ever giving way to over sentimentality.

Diane Chamberlain seems to go from strength to strength; her natural ability to tell a good story shines through from beginning to end.

I really enjoyed it,
