A Book you hated
The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffeneger
I love time travel books , so was quite excited by all the hype around this story about a man who travels forwards and backwards in time to be with his lover, and yet the book just didn't work for me - the narrative jumped all over the place, and I had difficulty keeping track of who was where, and when, and why. The simplified plot worked better, for me, as a movie, and yet it didn't make me want to try to re read the book
This is one of the few books I have given up on several times, and I have reached the conclusion that I will never finish it.

Mog the Forgetful Cat
.....Bother that Cat - no cat is soooooo forgetful - unless they want to be !!!
I did finish the book but this is a book that you have to read in paper form. I kept going back and forth looking at the headings and dates to get my bearings. Reading it was like time traveling and it gave you a sense of what the character was feeling waking up in different times and with different people and having to figure out what was what. Pauline
ReplyDeletePauline - I enjoyed the movie version as it explained the time travel element a little better :)
