Bonnier Zaffre 2018 |
Robin Davis hasn't spoken to her family in six years.
Not since it happened.
Then they're attacked; left fighting for their lives.
And Robin is back.
All families have their secrets.
And one of theirs may have put them all in terrible danger…
YOU CAN ALWAYS TRUST YOUR FAMILY . . . CAN'T YOU
My thoughts..
When Robin returns home, she hasn't spoken to her family in six years but when something dreadful happens, Robin is forced to re-evaluate just what she thinks about those who are closest to her. However, as we discover, families have a way of hiding what's really going on, and Robin finds out that some secrets run very deep.
It took me a while to get used to the characters and to gel completely with the way the story unfolded but once I got used to where the story was taking me, I settled more into the characters and began to understand them a little more. They're not all likeable as people, although, as the story progressed, I did warm more to Robin's character.
There's not much I can tell you about the plot as that would involve giving too much of the game away, but as The Bad Daughter progresses there are several twists and turns which give the story its edginess. However, I did work out, quite early on, which way the story was going, but that didn't spoil it for me. In fact, it's been quite a refreshing change to have a psychological suspense story set in the US, as I read so many books in this genre which are set in the UK.
The Bad Daughter is the latest in a long line of novels by this author and I am sure her fans will enjoy The Bad Daughter just as much as her previous books.
