Our Mutual Friend
A Tale of Two Cities
Oliver Twist
Nicholas Nickeby
Bleak House
The Old Curiosity Shop

I hadn't realized this was a special Dickens year. I'll try to fit in at least one or two of his books, too. I loved ToTC and David Copperfield. Thought Oliver Twist was OK, but not great.
ReplyDeleteI've had NN and Bleak House on my "to be listened" list for a while (librivox has them available for download), so maybe I'll try to push those farther up the list. :-)
It's been a while since I've read his books and really enjoyed The Christmas Carol for our BOTM. Since I have a few on my Nook, I think that I'll fit in a couple in honor of this special birthday. What better way to be remembered than to have people read your work for 200 years!
ReplyDeleteHi ABL and Pcost - I'd love to compare notes as we go along, most of my choices are on my kindle - that way I can make to print a little larger !
ReplyDeleteI think that audio versions would be very helpful - sometimes the books can get a bit hard work !
If anyone will be in London over the next few months, there is an exhibition on Dickens in the Museum of London:
