Yes I have definitely collected things over the years - Stickers, Rubbers, Keyrings, Stamps, Beanie Babies and nowadays I justify my large quantities of DVDs and Books as a collection, especially with the amount unwatched or unread! - @gilbster1000
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel - I was once a collector of Beanie Babies and spent a small fortune on the purple bear that was released shortly after the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. I think my collection are sitting in a box in the loft now !!
Deletenoooo!!! Get them out!!! I always wanted the diana one and never got it
DeleteHa Ha...Marie - I wonder if the Diana one has gone up in value ?
DeleteLots of things when I was younger, not so much now. Rubbers, keyrings, magnets from different places i'd been, dolls from around the world. sadly don't have any of them more. @sarahhardy681
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah - Yes, magnets with funny sayings on them was once something I seem to collect, including lots of cat ones that people have given to me...
DeleteOooh rubbers I forgot about them, I collected them too and cigarette lighters, novelty ones. I actually have no idea what happened to all of them.
DeleteLainy http://www.alwaysreading.net
I never collected rubbers but remember buying a new one at the start of every year at school...
DeleteOh I was THE collector when I was a child. I hoarded so many things. I used to collect pictures of Charlie's Angels (the original lot with Farrah Fawcett-Majors!). My friend Caroline and I were obsessed with them and would go around the village, knocking on doors and asking people for their old newspapers and magazines so that we could cut out all of the picture - our parents were not impressed! I also collected anything to do with owls for years and years, but the owls soon took over the house and I got rid of most of them!
ReplyDeleteHi Anne - I love owls too, and have just crocheted a parliament of owls for my craft fayre tomorrow !!
DeleteWell books, obviously. I used to collect cat ornaments but when I got to 500 in the downstairs loo and they took me about two hours to dust I stopped so I only have about 50 on display around the house now! @Lindahill50Hill. Thanks for the opportunity to enter x
ReplyDeleteHi Linda - I have a small collection of cat ornaments too but nothing as impressive as 500 - wow !!
DeleteYes! It used to be penguins, sheep (don't ask) book marks, DVD's, books & teddies :) I'm still asucker for any lonely looking bear x @DrewComps
ReplyDeleteHi Ali - my daughter collects sheep ! I must try kitting one. Teddy bears are another weakness of mine, along with pandas !!
Deletewe collected mugs and had them all hanging in the lounge! Over 150 of them. they are all packed away since we decorated the room. I now collect knitting patterns!
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret - I'll know who to ask if I'm ever stuck for a knitting pattern !
DeleteYes I'm definitely collector of books. I have no clue how many I have on my tbr lol. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHi and welcome dramioneforever. Nice to see you here..yes, I agree better not to count how many books we all have ...LOL
DeleteBrilliant thanks so much for this opportunity. Good luck all.
ReplyDeleteI collected keys and later coins as a kid. Now it is books :P
Lainy http://www.alwaysreading.net
Lainy - Keys and coins - that's an interesting collection.
DeleteDefinitely collect books, but I also collect elephants! I have ornamental elephants, cuddly elephants, elephants you can heat in the microwave, elephant pictures on the wall ... even elephant bookends!
ReplyDeleteDani
(@PentopaperBlog)
Hi Dani - I love elephants too but only have a couple of wooden ones that my auntie gave me years ago.
DeleteIn recent years I've become a book collector but many years ago I used to collect hand bells. I had over 200 of them - brass, china, wooden, anything bell shaped! When I moved I didn't have room to display them all so most ended up in boxes in the loft. I've since given them away to charity shops having kept a few special ones. Thank you for a lovely giveaway.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting item to collect Karen, I can't recall seeing many hand bells. It must have taken you ages to collect so many - glad you kept some special ones.
DeleteLovely giveaway!
ReplyDeleteApart from books you mean.....I used to collect postcards, I have several scrapbooks full of them that I can't seem to part with ;)
Yes, Lindsay, I think we all collect books ..lol x
DeleteI like looking at old postcards of local scenes.
Oh this book is at the very top of my Christmas list, to win it would be a dream! Since I was little I've collected dolphins of various shapes and sizes. Necklaces, toys, stickers, everything. For some reason I've always just been drawn to them! Xx
ReplyDeleteHi Rosie. Lovely dolphins - they are fun to collect, aren't they?
DeleteWhen I was young I collected stamps and still have a few albums in the loft. Now I seem to collect books!!
ReplyDeleteAnother book collector !! I was never very enthusiastic about stamps but did have a few isolated collections !
DeleteWhen i was a teenager i used to collect Erasers - no idea why - kept them in a tin for ages and eventually sold them on ebay for £50. In my 20's i used to collect the small ornatmental mannequin dolls with various dresses - cost a lot at the time but soon lost there value. Now i just collect books - for me and Oliver!"!! Fingers and toes crossed xxx
ReplyDeleteYes, I think we all collect books ! Strange what once appealed when you were younger now doesn't ! Priorities change, I guess !
DeleteI used to collect stray and unwanted animals and then find new forever homes for them, now I just collect books by the hundred especially about animals and since my beloved husband died last year I now just have one very spoilt cat, Milo.Would love to win this book.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely thing to do Kathy.Hugs x
DeleteWhen I was a child it was rubbers and keyrings. I had hundreds of them! Now of course, it's books!
ReplyDeleteI think we're all guilty of collecting Books Babs !
DeleteA bit macabre but as a child on holiday, visiting family every summer in Scotland, I used to collect bones, sheep's skulls, horns, jawbones, bird eggs as well as old relics from ruins and had a little mini-museum display in my bedroom lol. Maybe that's why I read so many thriller/mystery/horror stories now!
ReplyDeleteGreat collection Mandy !
DeleteI collect bookmarks and pens :) thanks for great giveaway, think I'm too late for this one though.
ReplyDeleteSorry Kat - I have another Christmas Giveaway running :)
